The Blacksheep Squadron in Burbank, CA is having a Cessna 180/ Piper Super Cub flying contest in February. I already have a Super Cub so I will probably build the Cessna for my demonstration at the education table during the AMA EXPO in January. I didn't think of this until I saw this thread or I could have picked one up at the meeting last Wednesday. Oh, Well! Guess I will just have to get one between now and then.

Howard, maybe I will see you there again. If it helps to promote the hobby I would be happy to bring some of my finished Guillows builds.

Cessa 180 sign-up

Postby rayd » Sun Oct 16, 2011 11:34 pm

Yo....Phugoid

I'm in. rayd

Plane is coming in a week. But, if you don't hear from me, it's possible my smuggling technique failed with boxtop swapping, perhaps better half might have caught on.

Some other committments may make me dead last (hmm..bad choice of words here) in this project...but I won't give up.

hey no problem, progress is fairly slow due to me writing everything up as I go along......

You'll soon catch up. All I have done so far is an hour or so and a cup of tea/coffee away....

Cessna 180 sign up

Yo...MakMov....chances are you ain't gonna make it. But you can try....some extreme creativity in ..."The devil made me do it " dept. So, to lighten up a Monday, lets see if we can offer MakMov some hints. (I feel horns coming out on my chrome dome already...hmm.) Ok, how about....You bought it at a yard sale for ten bucks because the guy couldn't get the plane into his mini cooper and his house has a small yard.

Well, you can cut it up and smuggle it in with shopping bags, piecemeal like, then reassemble at home and say you scratch built it. Or, be a man, bring it in as is...maybe say it landed near you...like an R/C model that went out of range and you got lucky. Hmm...somebody just gave it to you? Nah..too lame. Ok guys, lets see if any more ideas out there to help MakMov get this in. I'm also out of ideas, so I will be attentive. So we spend a thousand years more in purgatory, give or take. Hot stuff, ain't it?

Wow! thats a big ship there.

Cessna 180 build

MakMov....ever hear of Murphy's Law? It'll probably come Friday, or during the week at some time when she's home. She'll likely answer the door, or find it on the porch, while your raking leaves out back. You gotta be pretty good to outfox the womenfolk. Wait...wait..ok, here's the ticket, you signed up for an aeronautics class and must build this....er, Cessna 180 (Make up a sign, and hope for the best.) Uh, Ms. MakMov...should you be reading this, know it's all in jest.
