Laugh of the day

Postby Bill Gaylord » Sat Dec 20, 2014 3:29 pm

Looks like someone accidentally added pictures of a Hamilton Beach blender, along with a vintage Guillows Sopwith Camel kit on Ebay. I thought about using the "ask the seller a question" option to see if the blender comes with it. :D

Seriously I like the kit but at $40 starting bid it's just a bit high, and throwing the blender in with the deal is still not going to do it for me.

Just looked to see who's online now. I hope bing, bot, Google and Yahoo got a kick out of it.

$40 is high. And those old decals fall apart when you wet them. I'd rather just get the plan and cut My own pieces.

Yes they do disintegrate over time. I had a real fun time applying the decals to an old Eindecker kit. Should have won an award for successfully piecing them together.

Love that Eindecker. Was trying to get one off ebay with no luck.

Thanks, they're a nice kit and a nice little 3ch flyer. They were coming up often for quite some time, so one will probably be around soon. I just remembered that I think I have Guillows wheels on it too. :D

What are you using for power? Looks like a large prop for something with a small wingspan. Did you follow plan for R/C or alter it even more?

Thanks. The prop is mounted on a geared brushed setup for r/c that generally use props 7" and larger, unless with the steepest gear ratios available. The wooden props are considerably inefficient compared with a molded plastic prop of the same pitch. It could probably go 1" smaller if a GWS slo-fly was used and have comparable performance. From what I remember this model had no r/c details on the plan.

Ebay sellers can be almost laughable at times demanding high prices for low-priced stuff. I have tried to buy a mountain bike on Ebay and find used bikes selling for as much or more than a new bike.
Retired, relaxed, and keepin busy playin...until my wife catches me.
