I used to build and fly model airplanes when I was younger, but stopped as I got older.....I used to build comet kits and would fly really well with minor mods....I would buy Guillows kits, throw away all parts except plans, plastic....with the mods these kits look good and fly great. But it would take a lot of time to build because I was basically building from scratch....I started this BF109 over year ago and still not done.....I would be happy if Guillows would go to all laser cut wood so I could build faster and more kits...I am not into long flights any longer so If I could build a laser cut kit and fly it for 20 seconds I would be happy. Any way here are pictures of my BF109 with all new wood and mods.

1. To post pictures to the website, go to www.photobucket.com.
2. The jig is easy, I use balsa wood to make the jig..I place the balsa over the covered plan and glue my jig together with the vertical pieces going were my formers are going to go. Then I mark on the vertical pieces were the formers go...I also use little pins to pin the Keel in place. Then I start placing my formers.
3. I used Japeneese tissue. Sprayed with Krylon 1301 Matte clear.
4. This plane is still not done. Once again I hope to get back into building and Guillows would make it much easier if they laser cut there wood....I am thinking of buying Dumas kits, but they don't look as scale as the Guillows. I just don't have time to make all new parts each time I build an airplane.

Check out Easy Built Models, they are very similar it seems to Dumas, and a lot are laser cut.
