Yak-3 scratch built-inspired by Guillows - Continued

Additional pics of my Yak-3 build. Some of the pics were taken in 2020 while others were taken now. In the past three years the tissue has further deteriorated. Any clues as to why this is happening ?

Could those holes be caused by some kind of chemical reaction
with the glue or dope?
