XP-72 Super Thunderbolt

Postby Oldyzracer1 » Tue Feb 01, 2022 1:25 am

I’m using the Thunderbolt kit plans to scratchbuild an XP-72 Super Thunderbolt. This prototype was powered by the R-4360 Wasp Major engine and featured a propeller so large it had to take off and land in a 3-point stance to avoid prop strikes. I am vacuum forming a canopy for it buI need some proper wheels for it.

Canopy vacuum formed.
So I tried ordering some wheels and decals from Guillow’s. The wheels were $2. Decals were $10. Shipping was $54.

I am so peeved I don’t think I’ll publish here any more. I’ll put my pictures up on the Facebook sites run by modellers, not greedy corporate types. $10 would have been okay, but $54 is a slap in the face.

Bye everyone, I enjoyed your pictures and comments.
