D. Duckett's Painting with Acrylics information?

Postby emeiermodel » Wed Feb 22, 2017 2:57 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and re-discovering the hobby. I've seen many references to Dave's tutorial on painting with acrylics. I realize Dave is no longer a part of this community, but is there anyone that would be willing to relay the information Dave provided to the best of their ability?

That would be incredibly helpful to the community!

He has lots of stuff at Virtual Aerodrome. Worth a look.

Hello everyone,

A very short info on acrylics...

I use the Vallejo Paints. They come in many colors. They come in eye dropper style bottles. I put a few drops of paint on a pallet (a ceramic plate) and add a few drops of water to get the consistency I want. Thin enough to flow easy and thick enough for good coverage. They can also be thinned with thinner for use in an airbrush and I would recommend that for models that you intend to fly.

I generally use them for painting plastic models and the plastic needs to be primed first. For painting tissue paper I seal the model with dope of some sort before painting.

It was very lengthy and covered a lot of information over several posts. I'm afraid the information was forever lost when he was ran out of town by some rude behavior.
