Electric FF Kit 508 Stuka

Postby WIDDOG » Thu Jan 05, 2017 9:25 am

I will be attempting to fly kit 508 Stuka via EFF Electric Free Flight. I will be cutting the kit from Contest Balsa Wood. I have Guillow's Spare Parts. This is a very nice service for people that like to use Contest Balsa Wood.

I have an old video of my rubber powered Stuka. True it is not a very long flight. However, it does fly nicely with power.

I thought it was a good flying model also, from flying it as an rc conversion. Very stable with the gull wing/dihedral. I could see this being a good subject for electric FF.

Thanks Bill for posting. Very interesting point about RC conversions. I really think that the 500 series are better off with a Cox motor than rubber power. Of course with the new Lipo batteries electric i feel is the way to go.

I can fly 4 ch rc foamies fairly well now. However, for some reason I'm still liking EFF. To me it seems a lot like rubber power. I feel that if they had Lipo batteries lets say back in the 1940's. Wow EFF would probably be a lot more popular.

I always liked the Cox Stuka. I decided to cover my Stuka with black tissue.

My landings are not so great. I think i need a smaller lighter battery.
