Up for sale is a Guillow's P39D Airacobra Scale Balsa Kit. This item is from my Dad's estate, and has been partially assembled. I do not know what might possibly be missing, but I took everything out of the box and listed as many pictures of what was in the box as possible. There are directions and many parts, and if you would like to see the additional pictures that I took but couldn't list with this, I would certainly be willing to do that.
It does come in the original box, which does have some damage as you can see in the pictures, and is faded as well, but I do know these things have stayed popular, and I would like it to go to someone who can truly appreciate it and maybe finish what he started.
This item is sold "As Is", due to its age and my unfamiliarity with the item. I do have more airplane kits and parts for sale, so feel free to check out my other items! We are selling a old discontinued Guillows #2005 B-29 Superfortress new in original box. This is a rare find that is still in the original sealed box. The box is a little faded and the wrapping a little tattered, however, the kit has never been opened. It has been discontinued by Guillows for many years now. It is a classic stick and tissue kit. It is 1/32 scale 7/16"=1'. It has a wingspan of 53" and the kit was made here in the USA. It has been many years since we have had one to sell. We only have the one to sell and will start the bidding at only $99.99 and no reserve.

The AMA is the American Modelers Association... The "governing body" of all things R/C and presumably everything else to do with the airplane hobby...

The Enola Gay no matter what is an historical icon, never to be forgotten. Having said that, when I do my blow-up I'll not do the "Atom Bomber" but a "Tokyo Firebomber" in green and black, as I think I've seen enough renderings of the silver plane. Just sayin'..

They can command the price for plans that they do because you can't get the plans "legally" anywhere else. The difficulty in buying just the plans is not the balsa, in my opinion, but the plastics. When I blow up this plan, I'll have to invent the nose, and engine nacelles at the very least, and I'm sure a half dozen other items, just to pull up close to an accurate rendering of the plane. But, I'm bragging, not complaining. My biggest chore will be finding home for the danged thing when it's ready to hang on the ceiling. (162" wingspan...)

Will probably build it in 2013...

I'm bringing my B-29 in to them to have it "Inventoried" and "Resealed".
It's been on the shelf in the closet for about 5 years.

I had the plans copied so that I could use the copy to 'scratch build' one.
Didn't want to marr the originals in any way, shape, or form.

Gonna take pictures of the box in front of Guillows' building, like that globe trotting garden gnome. LOL

When I spoke with one of the guys there about what I wanted, he said he had a "List" of people interested in buying one.
Told him that wasn't my intention.
