Cessna 150 Build and new Fuselage jig review

Ask other modelers for a little help / knowledge ?

I think I am all done with the Cessna. I decided to keep it simple and leave it white. When I was a small kid I used to go to the local family owned hobby store and look at the Guillows Cessna hanging from the ceiling. So I wanted my Cessna to resemble that one.
After I covered all the structures I brushed 2 coats of 50/50 dope thinner to protect the tissue. Then assembled everything with Elmer's Glue. The pattern for the windshields needed a little trimming, but other wise right on. I glued the windshield on with med. CA. I think the clear windshields make this kit. I beefed up the plastic cowl with balsa and painted it so that added enough weight to balance the plane. The test glide was perfect with no clay needed. The way I trim the plane is I test glide it without the rubber. I add clay as needed. Now when I fly the plane all the rest of the adjustments are made with nose thrust. The final weight is 31 grams minus the rubber. I will take her out flying tomorrow. Sorry about the smudge on the pictures, we took the camera in this afternoon for repair. I will update the flight report.

I have all my planes ready and will take them out flying tomorrow am. I will post a report and pictures when I get home.

again the wood work is good :)
the spitfire and fw190 was the nicest i think, i like warbirds 8)

Here are some pictures of my adventures this am. I was not able to fly all my planes since they kicked me off the soccer field. The Cessna flew great with 3/16 rubber.

Excellent flight pictures. The models fly as good as they look. Which Cub flies the best?

The Comet by far. The Comet kit will fly away if you are not careful

I know I'm nitpicking but you have aroused my curiosity. Why are the star and bars upside down and the no.4 reversed on the right side of the F6F. Just curious. The pictures of the Hellcat trucking along makes me want to drop everything and start one. Did you lighten it up any?

This is an old model and the decals keep falling off so I just stick them back on, that is why they are upside down, oops. This is a complete modified Guillows kit weighing in at 14 to 16 grams with everything. I am going to build another but I will not modify other than using quality balsa. This is a great design and if all you do is use better wood, it will fly great.

Outstanding craftsmanship and excellent flight pics!
I have followed your builds with great interest and have learned
that I have a long way to go with my modeling skills.
I noticed a small "flap" under each left wing-tip in your flying
pictures, but not on the build pictures. Probably for flight trim.
Could you enlighten a struggling old-timer who's trying to
get back into it? Thanks.

I think the "flap" is there to make the models fly in a left turn :roll:
