Hi Mitch and congratulations on doing so well at the FAC meet.

I agree with your advice about the nose block. I do use shims to adjust thrust angles. I was for the most part happy with my nose block. It fits like a cork in a bottle. The plastic cowling held up nicely even to total nose in crashes. I would definitely recommend your nose block over mine. My nose block was more just an experiment that kind of worked out.

Okay...and that should work with the lower torque required for the 500 series. My little 100 series SE 5 nose block does not adjust and that model flies fine.

Thanks and you know I always feel that all of you are with me on the field of flight... that is why I post pictures and results here to share.

Some models that flew but not so well were...

1. Dumas Storch (built over 2 years ago and no adjustable block) model retired
2. My Desert Me 109 that got 3rd place 2 years ago... after 2 major incidents and repairs, not flying well, model retired
3. Zero Trainer, with failed paper over winter and re skinning... wing warped badly. Plan to keep fuselage build new wing. Also will build new tail thicker.

Everyone liked my Zero Trainer, some did not know what it was...but I had my documentation Other people knew Japanese trainers were bright Orange. I believe this model has potential and the fuselage is very light. She was very easy to find in the tall alfalfa.

Hi Mitch I think very highly of all your models. My fave is the Zero Trainer. Would you ever consider building a Guillow's Bird Dog?

I repaired my Messerschmitt. I now think the problem is I did a poor job of trimming the model. I read up on trimming techniques. And will start from scratch on re trimming.

I made more Guillows RC conversion attempts than I can count. I learned a lot even though I had no success. It was worth the failures to obtain the knowledge. I'm sure the Wright Bros. had a lot of failures too. Knowledge is priceless.

Well I got my Messerschmitt stuck in a tree. I think this would have been a nice flight without the tree. I am starting to figure out what these 500 series kits like. Anyway I'm having fun trying.
